The Trendy Moustache

You could be forgiven for thinking that moustache in endangered. Till very recently the only place you could spot them was in funny advertising campaigns or on old freedom fighters. A few people who endorse them are shatrughan sinha , Jackie shroff, Anil Kapoor.

But suddenly over the last few years we have seen scores of famous figures of bollywood wearing moustaches. Both in reel life and in real life.Salman Khan wore one in Dabangg,Hrithik Roshan in Guzarish,Ajay Devgan in Ones Upon a Time in Mumbai.

How to grow a Moustache

Growing a Moustache could take you about 2-3 weeks before you can have your own moustache.

1 Stop shaving the area between your nose and upper lip. Let your stubble grow out a bit so you can see what will work for you and for this period, shave around the area.

2 Meanwhile apply some moisturiser and lotion to the area and make sure it gets some sunlight as well. If you are using facial products, try not to scrub the part of the moustache too hard.

3 Resist the urge to shape it as it grows. As your moustache hair get longer, Comb it from centre to the side. This is to train the hair to grow in the right direction. Use a narrow toothed Comb

4 As a moustache becomes thicker, take a sharp pair of scissors tilt the blade at an angle and trim off the corners .Ideally the moustache should not reach the lip line.

5 When it has grown sufficiently finally decide what look you want. Usually smaller faces needs small moustaches and larger faces need more prominent ones.

6 If you think your moustache is too bushy, reduce its volume by trimming only top. Also apply gel or oil or a moustache wax to get your moustache into the shape you want.

Indian Woman Fashion Trends

Woman fashion is not just about wearing woman fashion clothing. It is something that you can associate yourself with. Your urban woman fashion style should go in consistency with fashion trend and your personality. Your body frame, skin tone, comfort level and personal attitude are some factors that determine your fashion statement.

Fashion tips for women: -
Body frame: If you are plump, avoid sleeveless cuts. Wear dark colors rather than going in for lighter shades and if you wish to wear lighter shades then prefer dull colors like instead of sky blue go in for dull blue or dirty blue. Small prints and vertical line prints give a slimmer look. Heavy built should avoid cotton sarees and Kota sarees and should instead attire oneself in Chiffon and Georgette sarees.
If you have a medium structure, you should choose beige and fawn colors. With this kind of constitution, you can dress yourself in georgette saree or satin. In case of blouses, prefer nets, as they are a great help in disguising physical flaws. If you are thin, you can carry off well in all colors. The entire range of beautiful shades will suit you. Sleeveless, deep cuts and strapped blouses can also be worn.
Tone:If your complexion is fair, gold with a blend of copper would look wonderful. If you are medium/ wheatish colored, go in for mixed shades of white, beige and bronzy golden. Dark skin toned should wrap up themselves with goldenish copper shades.Comfort level and personal attitudeYour comfort level becomes an equally important determinant in deciding your style.
If you do not feel very comfortable wearing western outfits but at the same time want to maintain a smart cosmopolitan look, Indo western style would add on charm to your personality. If you are shy introvert types, then you can carry yourself better in a sari with boat necked or square necked blouses. If you are bold and outspoken type, you can choose to pick up sleeveless, deep-necked blouses or may be with straps. So, whether you go in for hip-hop style or classic style fashion, it should coincide with your personality.

Hamish Morrow

If you’re looking for something a little less showy and a lot more somber, Hamish Morrow is your man. The South African designer, who is returning from a mini hiatus from London Fashion Week, showed a modern, utilitarian, ready-to-wear collection for Spring 2007, combining the looks of high-tech sportswear and exquisite drapery. He showed many asymmetrical coats and softly pleated dresses. The consistent sleek and streamlined looks were suddenly interrupted by misplaced lavender lace concoctions that made show-goers raise their perfectly polished eyebrows. After a few floor-grazing, curtain-resembling dresses came down the runway, Morrow decided to shock the audience again with chandelier headdresses that rival those of an empress. He also juxtaposed sparkly cardigans with regurgitated Fall 2006 staples such as leggings and headbands.

Fun Fact: Morrow treated the fabric in his collection with a form of nanotechnology which makes wine stain impossible – the liquor just glides right off!!

Julien Macdonald

Julien Macdonald ended London Fashion Week with a bang – literally. The glittery show resembled a New Year’s Eve party when confetti exploded as MacDonald took his walk down the runway. The British powerhouse designer teamed up with American powerhouse stylist Rachel Zoe to show his luxe Spring 2007 collection of slinky silk metallic dresses, sweeping floral gowns, and crisp white suits. In between, he threw in fun halter dresses and hot swimsuits topped off with cute cropped jackets. Jewel tones such as cobalt blue and vibrant pink sapphire complemented the curve-hugging silhouettes. The collection was glamorous and sexy to the max, but it was just a little too reminiscent of Gucci à la Fall/Winter 2005. Is Macdonald the new Tom Ford perhaps…? Whatever the verdict, no one can deny the glamorous sex appeal Macdonald’s dreamy creations oozes

Issa

The tent was pulsating with the techno remix of Guns and Roses’ Sweet Child of Mine as Issa’s Spring 2007 collection of feminine-sexy frocks hit the runway.

Brazilian-born Daniella Helayel launched Issa in 2001 with the hopes of creating a quintessential go-to dress. And he must be doing something right, as Issa is now sold at London hot-shops like Harvey Nichol’s and Selfridges, and worn by A-listers like Scarlett Johansson and Madonna.

For Spring 2007, Issa stays true to Helayel’s original quest for the it dress. Silk jersey dresses in animal print provided a refreshing take on Diane von Furstenberg’s classic wrap. And, Grecian-inspired, floor-length gowns, as well as sparkling flirty cocktail dresses, aim to make their way from the beach, to the office, to the after-party.

The color palette was a mix of bold blue, yellow and a combination of black. The embodiment of effortless modern chic, the collection is not only completely wearable, but interchangeable as well (so mix and match all you like ladies)!

Janet Collin

It’s only a matter of time before up-and-coming talent Janet Collin’s trademark crest becomes as recognized on handbags as Burberry’s plaid is on the lining of raincoats.

Collin began a love affair with design ten years ago while still in school, and after a solid career in product design, took a leap of faith launching her own line of handbags.

Now in its third season, Janet Collin handbags are largely influenced by the Middle Ages, while her current collection is inspired by the pinnacle of all romantic tales, Tristan and Isolde. Collin’s inspiration arose from the secret affair between the two lovers, echoed by hidden compartments and pockets tucked away in each of her bags.

While she may draw inspiration from the Middle Ages, Janet Collin’s line is certainly not stuck in the past. Her embossed leathers come in a range of rich colors and must-have metallics and the custom designed hardware made the line even more unique and bag-a-licious.
